Just a quick update

This isn’t a terribly exciting post, but I feel like I owe it to you all to update you as I am acutely awake that I have been neglecting this site. There’s a few reasons why. Firstly, my new job has been more demanding than I expected. I’m not complaining, I’m pretty happy in my job but I have found myself with a bit less free time.

In truth, it’s more than that though. I started this blog when I was feeling incredibly frustrated by the constraints of my job and I had needed somewhere to put my pent up energy. At least 50% of the posts on this site were written at around 3 a.m. because it was either that or stress clean my entire house.

I’m in a better space now, and I haven’t lain awake all night feeling powerless to process all of the problems on my desk for over a year now. Which means all my prime writing hours are now spent sleeping. Great for my health but not so good for this site.

I am, of course, capable of writing at more sociable hours, but I’m trying to find a balance so that I am not thinking about work 24/7.

So from now on I will hopefully be posting once a month. And this doesn’t count as January’s post. I will write something actually useful this month as well.

If there is anything in particular you would like me to cover, do please get in touch.

In case it isn’t obvious from the fact I still haven’t identified the authority I used to work for, or the organisation I now work for, the views expressed on this blog are my own opinion and not the opinion of that local authority or organisation.
